Charismatic people are the catalyst of change. With their charisma, they help bring change and motivate others to follow in their path. It is this trait that helps bring a change in society. Despite the rapid advances in science and technology along with a better standard of living, there are still millions of people who can’t afford two square meals a day.
Many people here in the West are unaware of the extreme hardship the poor face in the least-developed regions of the world. While many take their access to food, clothing, shelter, entertainment, education, healthcare, and other services for granted, there are people in Africa who spend hours trekking to the nearest source of potable water for their families.
We need charismatic people in our society that could motivate people to contribute more toward charity and help the disadvantaged live a better life. Dr. Michelle Corral has been one of the most vocal advocates to raise funds for the disadvantaged. Through her missions across the world, she has helped countless people come out of poverty and helped them stand on their own feet.
As the founder-president of the Breath of the Spirit International Ministries, she has used her charisma to help motivate her followers to give generously for the benefit of the poor.
Though her organization depends on her efforts to give to the poor, Dr. Corral has taken inspiration from well-known role models who’ve etched their names in history. Let’s see some of them who’s worth emulating.
Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa spent her whole life helping the poorest of the poor. Starting in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, she set up hospices, schools, orphanages, and missions to help the poor worldwide. She received many accolades for her work, including the Nobel peace prize.
There is probably hardly anyone else who’s made such an impact in society than Mother Teresa. She has gone to extreme lengths to get funding and resources for her missions and charitable activities. Today, her Missionaries of Charity are well known to work for the poorest of the poor across the world. To date, she and her order are instantly recognizable with the white sarees and blue borders.
Martin Luther King Jr
Martin Luther King Jr was a civil rights activist who campaigned against racial segregation in the United States. At a young age, he worked with his fellow black pastors to motivate blacks against discriminatory laws and the lack of voting rights. A Nobel Peace Laureate, Martin Luther King Jr worked hard to help the poor and end economic injustice. This charismatic Black leader was assassinated in 1968 at the young age of 39.
Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela was an advocate against apartheid in South Africa. He spent 27 years in jail and rose to become South Africa’s first Black President. From his college days, he held protests against racial discrimination and joined the African National Congress to further his cause. The white-minority government of South Africa eventually gave way to the ANC-led inclusive government, and Mandela was awarded the Nobel peace prize for his contribution toward equality. Until his death in 2013, Nelson Mandela was seen as a charismatic personality that helped brew a revolution toward equality.
In the end
To make this world a better place, we need charismatic people who can get people to donate funds for Chesed and other humanitarian organizations. Dr. Michelle Corral is trying her best to raise funds for the poor through her organizations and events, it’s time we helped her in all ways we can.
